Celebrating a Decade of Impact and Our 7th Apartment
This week marked a milestone we’re incredibly proud of: the opening of our 7th apartment at Texas Fire Fighters Home and a full circle moment for our community.
Exactly 10 years ago, we hosted our very first Open House. That early gathering planted a seed that’s grown through years of care, commitment, and shared purpose.

To honor the moment, we came together with partners and friends who make this mission possible, including the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association, The Rotary, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, UTHealth Houston, HCA Healthcare and Houston Methodist Hospital.

We also celebrated alongside our Ambassadors, Houston firefighters, community leaders, and the Texas Fire Fighters Home Board of Directors in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that captured the heart of why this work matters.
And in the best possible way to mark the occasion, the 7th apartment opened immediately to welcome a new guest turning celebration into service in real time.

None of this happens in isolation. It’s the result of years of generosity, donations, and volunteerism from supporters who believe that when firefighters and first responders face medical hardship, they deserve dignity, comfort, and a place to call home. Over the last decade and beyond, your support has built more than apartments; it has built relief during difficult seasons and reassurance when it’s needed most.
As we look ahead, we carry this momentum forward with gratitude and with a renewed commitment to serve even more firefighters and their families when they need it most.
From all of us at Texas Fire Fighters Home: thank you for being part of this journey.
